1964 D Jefferson Break Help - Coin Community Forum

southsav Pillar of the Community 2224 Posts	Posted 06/11/2012 4:30 pm The break going south to north on the reverse of this 64 D is obvious, but I'm not sure what all the distortion to the left and right of the break is. To me it looks similar to what a struck through error might look like, but can a strike through occur alongside a break? Any thoughts on it are appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

The crystalline structure in some of the pics looks like it could have been etched by acid. It is very interesting. Can you get a pic of the edge at the site of the fracture? It almost looks like it was melted like welding and dipped to remove the heat coloring? What does the other side look like? Is the coin flat? Just saying.
