algol, I had to go past your pic and come back as it looked like the head was indented instead of raised. That seems to happen a good bit when I look at large cent pics. Is it just me or does anyone else have the same thing happen?

Great coins guys! I have to say, this the first of these threads I have followed in detail. And its not like I dont have pics of other coins to have participated. This one just grabbed me.

Ten more days and I can play again...

Lots of history in these old pieces of copper used by the common man of the 18th and 19th centuries. The history part is what grabbed me.

The cent went a lot farther in the days of these old cents. The average income was about 7 dollars per week in the 1800s (492 dollars per year).

1819 Day. So much for the teenage years. This one's a bit crusty.

pg . . nice die crack from stars 6-9. That doesn't look like typical verdigris on the rev. The color is more like Crayola's "Mountain Meadow." It almost looks like paint. Have you tried acetone?
