Quote: Is this an N-3? Sorry but that's the book I don't have. The Die Varieties of United States Large Cents 1840-1857," by John R. Grellman, Jr. I see it available for $100. It's probably a good time to ask if anyone knows of a used copy that may be available.

OldSkoolMadSkilz: why do you think it is an N-3? There should be cracks through stars 3-6, and 11-13 over the top of the date to stars 1 and 2. Depending on the die state, there may also be a triangular lump under the space between 1 & 8, as well as a round lump under teh space between the 4 and 0 of the date. The cracks are prominent but I don't see them in your picture, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. reference: The Die Varieties of US Large Cents, 1840-1857, Grellman. I paid $100 for it and he signed it for me; I highly recommend it.
