I heard from a Mint employee that 2016 will be the last year for the $100 for $100. They are also reconsidering the fate of the $50 for $50. They will continue with the $20 for $20 and $25 for $25.

I see dark clouds on the horizon for the $20for$20 if the silver spot price continues to creep upward. RCM needs to recoup a certain amount of profit from the sales in order to absorb the redemptions. 1/4 oz per coin, at $20/oz, that's $5 worth of silver. But at $26 it increases to closer to $7. It woukdn't be surprising if $25for$25 becomes the standard as it really doesn't make sense to issue the same size coin for both releases.

That's too bad, I liked the $100 for $100, if it's going to be their last year hopefully we'll get 2 more to make it an even 10 coins.

I just had an epiphany - All these $20, $25, $50 and $100 $xx for xx I've collected aren't/won't go anywhere price wise and I still don't have a 1948 SD - I'm going to cash in the whole set - This will free up some space and provide enough cash to buy a hopefully MS60 or better 1948 SD

I asked my rep. the other day if they about the $200 for $200. He said it literally changes every day.

A complete set of $20/$25 in the RCM case was up for sale at the Colonial Acres online auction this past weekend. I thought it might go for a higher price, new face value collectors jumping in during the later issues and wanting to complete the full collection. However it sold for $390 plus the 18% auction fee.

That's less than issue price even with the 18%. I foresee many of these getting cashed in.

When the RCM started the $20 for $20 silver was higher than it is now. These last few years have been a bonus for them. But I still agree that we may be nearing the end of the $20 for $20. And as much as I've enjoyed the series, I think it's time.

As far as NCLT go, they are some of the better deals.

I got full value but had to work for it. Went to Scotia first -+ they wanted to charge me selling and shipping fees for selling Silver - had never heard of XX for XX or how to submit them for reimbursement - shook my head and walked away.

Decided to try the Royal - they knew right away what I had, asked me if I had an account - said no, but all kinds of ID - Took them all, the whole set from $20 to $100

Like I keep saying about these x for x coins, the banks don't make 2 billion every 90 days by being nice and helpful to everyone walking from the street, best bet for redeeming is through your home branch.

^ As I bank with PC, a bank without brick and mortar, I just hope there never comes I time I feel I have to redeem them; it's much more fun to simply share then with other coin aficionados.
