If I remember correctly PC bank is closely related to CIBC so maybe they would help or just open an account with a main bank deposit and a week latter transfer back to PC

I redeemed all my $20 for $20 yesterday. I didn't have much luck doing it myself so I sent my mom to the bank with them and she had no problem. Over $2400 worth. Just too much money tied into these and I wanted to get rid of them before the mint reverses their policy of redemption. I phoned a few dealers in Vancouver but none were interested in them and posting them on Craigslist resulted in no interest, even at face value. I feel the entire program is on the way out.

I agree. I'd bet the odds are low for someone walking in off the street regardless of what bank, in looking to cash in XforX because of the risk of counterfeit. Employees at any one bank branch are never going to become proficient at authenticating dozens of different XforX so what matters is the trustworthiness of the person asking to cash them in can be determined in some way.

There's a new $200 for $200 out. Looks like they decided to release them after all

^ I hope the design beats "Rugged Mountains" 2015... sometimes I wonder how these get approved (no ill intent toward the artists). I can't find it, must be only visible to Masters Club or Dealers for now I gather?

Mine as well. $200 is a lot of money for $50 worth of silver and a so-so design. But for those who collect them, well to each his or her own. If I were tempted, what I'd do instead is take the $200, keep it in an envelope so it didn't get spent and every time I walked by a bank I'd exchange it to search serial numbers, $20s, $10s or $5s. Or just deposit it by ABM, then take a different $200 in cash. I'd always have $200 on hand for emergencies and by luck or by gosh I might find some nice radars or other sequences that would be worth more than a $200for$200. Not intending to discourage anyone from NCLT......just mentioning another alternative to hitting "buy now".

The bank was RBC in Maple Ridge, BC. I don't have a bank account in Canada, which is why I sent my mother. She had no problem. I also tried CIBC in Pitt Meadow, BC and they would not take them since I didn't have an account.

A whole lot better? To my ranking, hardly a notch. LOL! Both are real lousy investments if the buyer is hopeful of future silver bullion appreciation. But I think it's possible some new collectors may incorrectly perceive that the $200 face value coin advertised as "fine silver" -- means that it also contains $200 worth of pure silver. I often notice RCM isn't real helpful in correcting that mistaken notion in their QandA either, in fact they dodge it by merely stating the weight in grams. As for doing the math, for some it's not so easy.
