Quote: fistfulladirt I cant believe the silver found here. I'v never found a good reject find in over six years...congrats! Keep trying. They're out there. Try different times of the day and different stores. You'll hit. Today, between snow storms, my wife and ventured into our local grocery, mainly for milk which we had run out of. Went directly to dairy case and skipped the Coinstar. As I was checking out I remembered to get a paper and check the machine. Told the clerk I'd be right back and I was, but not before scooping up: Love tokens and foreign coins, but got excited about the silver. - But not as excited as I would have been finding $16.20 face of silver in a few dusty rolls as described in that other thread, Holy cow!!

This weekend's finds. The 5 pence on Friday and the 10 centavos today. Both about the size of a dime and neither worth as much as a dime, but fun finds nevertheless.

So I haven't been to a Coinstar in a couple years and this thread got me all excited. I had some searched pennies to dump and was okay with getting an Amazon gift certificate. Unfortunately nothing laying around above, under, on on the machine. BUT, it did count two of my cents as a nickel and a quarter, so I walked out of there 30 cents richer. So I got that going for me.

This week's finds. Three things on three different days and two different machines. The NYC Subway token was last sold sometime in the 1990's. I forget what the last fare for which a token was valid, but it certainly was under $2.00. I think the other token was (still is?) for a Times Square peep show place. I've never been in the place and don't know if it still exists so I have no idea what it was originally sold for. Someone traveled to Cuba. At first I thought it was a 1954 which would have been kind of cool, but 1994 is boring.

This week's haul. One silver. First in awhile. Hits on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Today it was my wife who found all the Caribbean coins.

I never thought it would happen! I've read all of your stories about finding coins in Coinstar machines and thought to myself, "Ha! You'll never find anything in one of those!" And then....today....IT HAPPENED! Hahaha Found the top two in the return tray, the one by itself on the floor next to the machine, and the bottom two in the little waste can by the machine! And yes, that is a "Restroom Token"! Hahaha My best find ever!
