i have 8 rolls of 50 x 10c silver coins in plastic tubes. out of 400 dimes, this George 1940 is the ONLY one without a ridged edge.

i don't think it was a PMD because the coin it self looks to be EF + with no dents but it's consistent all the way around.

400 dimes and I don't even have another 1940 to compare it to, but the 1939 and 1941's aren't like that, is this normal?

Struck without collar maybe? The exact circumference and weight might help determine it isn't PMD.

2.23 grams (every other george is 2.30-2.34g and it's a bit smaller than the others

jakedacc...My 1940 weighs in at 2.25 grams....But mine has reeding around the coin.

Smaller in diameter,appears to be thicker at the edge.
Spooned or Dryer Coin.PMD.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
