The Harrington Farthing comes in several varieties: a small tin plated copper about 13mm, a slightly larger copper 16mm version and other copper varieties based on the number of harp strings and mint marks. But without a clear mint mark no final attribution can be made.

I think your copy may have been mounted because the top is all messed up as if it was melted. Because of that and the mint mark being missing I would expect that the coin would bring only about half of the normal price or about $10.

I have seen a few counterfeits of this coin but they fall into a cruder form than yours. They are more like momentos rather than real numismatic forgeries.

The mint mark is located top dead center - if it was ever actually on this one. The coin was struck off center and as such the mint mark may have missed the flan. But from what I can see the entire area where it should be is covered or melted.

If you get a better picture of the top center please post it.
