Managed to pick up a lot of 10 2023 ASEs for a good price while the premiums were low.

I learned that Large US notes have lots of value! Even in raw. I recently listed a few duplicates of my US notes, my coin shop sight unseen offered me $700 which I thought was low as the minimum I could get on ebay was $1200. I really wanted $850 to $900. I decided to shop the notes around, another local coin shop offered me $850. But I decided I didn't want to sell 1 of the notes, so I went back to my coin shop. I asked for $745 and a discount on a 1908 $5 Gold coin. He checked ebay for notes I decided to sell, he agreed for $745. He said he will probably sell 2 by tomorrow to a local customer. He is going to ask for $550 (he paid $350, I paid $350 so no gain no loss on those but I paid retail). The others I made money on (not much about $100, but he needs to make a profit and I got a $50 discount on the gold coin). I also didn't want to sell individually, so the deal really worked out for me. I also learned that I like shiny coins. Not bad for 5 large us notes and $20 Hawaii note.

Quote:I am jealous of the Franklin halves. Very nice! I was hoping to buy a roll for a while, but never seen a good price. But, about a week ago I could get a roll for 19x face so I pounced. I added the two $5 commemoratives to push me into the tax free zone.

By 1916 quarter I assume Barber design, not the SLQ which retails for nearly 20 times that total even in G condition.
