1945: Plenty of nice examples from the later years. I wonder if we'll see any early AU+ examples...

How do you capture that incredible toning in pictures? I have been practicing for tomorrow and still cannot capture the incredible toning on my hubby's Franklin.

@CoinsKelly some of my toned coins come out better than others, this one came out really well. Ultimately I play with the lighting a lot, trial and error. I have a fairly old digital roughly 10 years old but it has a leica lense which is fairly nice and takes decent pictures. Ultimately to get the coin to look on screen how it looks in hand I have to edit in photoshop, mess with the contrast, vibrance and saturation levels. to be honest my camera set up is very....rigged. I have two cheap lights from ikea, a tripod, a stack of books to bring the coin closer to the lense with a mouse pad on top which is where I lay the coin. Ultimately a lot of trial and error, for every 20 pictures I take of a coin I may get 2 to 4 I can work with.

I can definitely relate to the trial and error (mostly error) and wind up taking alot of images to find a decent one since I have to build-up and tear-down my "set-up" since I don't have a dedicated space for my imaging. ...yet. Beautiful Walker BTW shadowtrooper78!
