One more from the hoard. I thought I'd share this one too.

Is that considered a retained lamination?

does lamintation add any value to a coin? or is it more of the fun of finding one?

mds, can you remind me the story behind the hoard? I do not remember reading the thread on it. Thanks!

After reviewing the images at Mike Diamonds Site, I believe this would be considered a 'lamination crack.' The retained lamination's look more like a flap that is still attached and the one I posted yesterday would be a lamination with loss. If you notice the 'E' has a lamination crack running around it. This may be a retained lamination too.

I had a friend who introduced me to a couple that was selling a parents coin collection. Mostly common silver with around 5200 LWC's. I have been finding lots of Woodies, lamination's and greasers but no high dollar coins. Mostly fun stuff. I have about 800 remaining.

I have another bag of 320 LWC's that are in the 'on deck circle' plus approximately 300 1959 LMC's. I'm still looking for that needle in the wheat-stack.
