Last week I found 12 rolls of what appears to be 1960-P small date cents.. All are shotgun rolls and were from my late fathers estate. These were in a old metal fire lock box along with about 100 or so rolls of 1959, 1961, 1962, cents & nickels. Anyway, I would like to sell them & also know if any of the other rolls are possibly worth something too...My local dealer told me there worth a good buck but I never ask him about the other rolls I have... Any suggestions on how to sell them or what other rolls would be worth a premium... I know ebay has them listed for about $6-7 each but don`t never seen a roll listed on there... Thanks!! Also, should I break one open to make sure there all small dates? How would I go about doing this.. If all 12 rolls have the small date on the ends, would I assume there solid like that all the way through. I don`t have pics yet as my camera I just loaned out to my daughter....

If you open a roll and it proves to be 100% small dates you have a good selling point,if it turns out to be mixed Lg. & Sm.then can you honestly sell the others as all Sm. the prices they have sold for on ebay are all over the board. From as low as $1.04 to a high above $160.00.

Thanks DrDon for that info.. Yes, I do see that a roll or two sold for 160.00 on ebay. I just wanted to make sure there all small dates before I would sell them.. Only if there was a way to verify that so I don`t have to open and go through all of them to check that.... So in ending, it really doesn`t matter if I open the rolls to check then.. Ok, will check all tomorrow and see...

Yes, open them. Even if you try to sell them as
unopened rolls most people may be leery of a scam etc.
