edwardiannut New Member United Kingdom 1 Posts	Posted 04/11/2013 11:04 am Hi,have just bought a gold half sovereign from a very reputable online bullion dealer.However, dated 1912 it has Queen Victoria jubilee head on the reverse.It has tested 22ct gold.Is this a forgery or some kind of mule?Many thanks for any replies Report this Post to the Staff

Although this coin may well be in 22 ct gold, it would best be termed a 'fantasy coin'. I have quite a few 'impossible' fantasy coins in my collection, all low denomination values, in base metals. I don't consider MY 'coins' of this ilk to be worth anything, but I have a few for their curiousity value. Report this Post to the Staff

And they often have a small stamp indicating such: the Arabic numerals "21", for example. You can see an example of such a marked jeweller's imitation in this thread.
