I got this $1 bill today at work with serial # G00000021G
Is this bill hard to find or is a serial this low common? Does anyone have any idea on the value of a note like this. Thanks for your help with this guys/gals!! The bill is in pretty good shape. I'll try to post pics when I get off work

I also found a $5 bill with the serial IL00004869A same questions on this bill. I'm new to paper money so I thought I would ask the experts!!

The $1 note is a VERY low serial and is not common at all. Definitely something you want to hang on to! Generally you need at least 5 zeroes before you get to what can be considered a low serial. So the $5 is probably a spender.

While I can't speak for what the potential value of the $1 might be, keep in mind the number 21 may carry an even higher premium. (think blackjack!)

Blackjack! The $1 if uncirculated, should sell for $100 or more. If it is xf - au then it should approach $100 but people that collect that number may step up and go even higher in a competitive auction. Pics would help to value it signifigantly...

The $5 would have little premium...

That low serial $1 is an exceptional find. Depending on the overall condition, you might have something that you can get up to $200-300 for. And with a number like 21 (blackjack, age, lucky number, etc.), even better yet!

Black jack or otherwise...reality below

A while back (Nov / Dec 2012) a ChCu gem SN 21 on a $1 sold for around $150.

Depending on condition I see it in the $60 to $100 range.

There are plenty of ChCu low sn's for sale currently on ebay and dealer websites in the range of $125 to $175.

The OP does have matching alphas (prefix/suffix) which may add a few bucks BUT see my comments above.

That is an excellent find. The $1 will probably surprise you. I also definitely would either keep or sell the five. Don't spend it.

Now that the pics are posted I would estimate its value at ~ $40 - $60. The stain is infortunate but its still a great find from the "wild"!

Yeah I wish it didn't have the stain. I thought it might be around that area, but it was fun to just find it there in the register it took me by suprise. Maybe the next cool bill I find will be in better condition.

I like it! Way to go. That is such a neat find. It's amazing to me that no one else stashed it away before it got circulated as much as it already has!
