Paisa Valued Member Canada 387 Posts	Posted 06/09/2013 7:09 pm Between the two TPG coin graders in Canada I believe only one of them specifies error or variety on the holder. Is this correct? If so which grader would that be? Secondly how are varieties determined? Is there a body or a group that has to approve if some condition constitutes a variety or an error? or does the TPG look at the request from someone seeking the grading and determines if the condition constitutes an error or a variety? " I beleive that the two coin graders in Canada specify error and variety on the holder but I think that CCCS, for the same price than a regular coin to the owner, is in advance of ICCS. 2- For your satisfaction, it is important that the owner of a coin specify to the grader the type of error or variety that he see on his coin. I know with my experience with CCCS, that when this grader agree with an identification, this is inscribed on the holder. Report this Post to the Staff
Ningcumpoop Valued Member Canada 220 Posts	Posted 06/09/2013 10:28 pm I think that demand will have the largest influence on what coins get an official variety status. Publishing entities also have a big influence as well. If Charlton goes ahead and lists a different variety then a lot of collectors will adopt it right away. Coin news is another one.
