Help Grading Indian Head Cent / IHC

TimCoinMan New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 09/04/2013 8:54 pm Hi everyone, I recently purchased this 1903 IHC and I'm thinking about slabbing it however I'm not sure how the corrosion spots will affect the grading. Without the spots I'm guessing this coin would grade 63-64. The photos aren't good enough to show the coin's overall quality, however it shows the corrosion spots very well. Does anyone know how PCGS & NGC would consider these spots? Would it be considered "environmentally damaged" (ie. not gradeable) or does it just affect the MS rating? felofle New Member United States 17 Posts	Posted 09/06/2013 4:25 pm Good eyes mdpmedia. Under a 10x with proper lighting angle I can see a few tiny tiny scratches there. The corrosion spot on the rim and under the liberty appear to be etched in the copper, but the rest look like surface spots. I'm thinking I just might save my $$$, write MS62-63 RD on the holder and keep it with my raw coins collection. Report this Post to the Staff
