Are Both Silver Eagles And Bars 1 Troy Ounce?

Superhal Valued Member United States 315 Posts	Posted 10/28/2013 03:56 am Bars yes. Silver eagles ar usually 31.5 grams or so, a Troy ounce is 31.1. They are .993 pure silver, but yes they are a full Troy ounce of silver. The math says they should be slightly over. The .007 is copper. Rounds and bars are usually exactly in multiples or fractions of 31.1. Only copper is not sold by Troy ounce, but the regular ounces used in the us. Report this Post to the Staff

All ASEs have the same fineness and weight per nominal specifications provided to planchant supplier. Slight tolerances are built into all specifications. ANA #R3154474 Report this Post to the Staff
