Oh, I know it's not a "token" token. But it's part of a collection I inherited that's organized by Breton token number, so that's how I think of it. No idea where or when the auction description came from. The safety deposit box has been through multiple family members ownership before I got it.

Thought it was worth sharing with people who can appreciate it. As I said...nifty =)

Just picked this token yesterday for only a few dollars.
It is an 1824 Nova Scotia token but details due to the plugged hole. It is the 3-leaves thick hair obverse variety with orientation.
Didn't have this one yet, so plugged hole or not, I'm ok with that for now.

I am sure Wade that with a little more time you will be able to find something better. Because the reverse die of the Courteau #238 variety with the Cud at the letter «bAnk» seems from my research to date to have hit a good number of tokens before finally being changed.

Got the chance this week to take over a few tokens from another collocter that was getting rid of his tokens.
