Quote: My latest addition: BL-40A2 with 90° rotation and small clip at 2:00. Color is a bit darker than the slabbed photos. NGC called it Genuine. What is your opinion(s) on grade? @1960NYGiants:This series is relatively hard to grade, personally I'd say F-15/VF-20. It's certainly a great token. But the rotation wouldn't be 270°?
I'm sorry if my English isn't perfect... I'm learning a little more every day.

Quote: But the rotation wouldn't be 270°? Possibly. Catalogue has straight (40A1) and upset (40A2) die axis but also states 90° east or west are extremely rare. If using the straight axis, I think mine is 90° West.

Way to go,Gene! But I don't get why NGC would decline to grade it.

A beauty of a BL-40 there, and looks like the final die state in the series too! Have seen this referred to as the "Gibson Girl" variety with the recut head, bust, and denticles on the reverse.

Hope this is ok to post, only reason being this is such a narrow field and posts to the buy/sell forums get buried pretty quickly. And, well, this is where the token people hang out (apologies mods if this isn't ok)
I have made the decision to sell my entire token collection. Details can be found in the buy/sell section or by searching posts under my username.

Help needed with the attribution of this Imitation Tiffin token!
I've been chewing up some time this weekend slogging through a couple of dozen Tiffins and Bust & Harp tokens I've never really looked closely at since the days of Haxby-Willey numbers. Based on the cross-hatched grass below the bale, I updated this one 20-25 years ago to Withers 1474 but penciled in at some later point the notation "Charlton LC-48C." Now I see in the latest edition that the Charlton book has narrowed things down even further. Ticking off the diagnostic markers in Charlton, my best guess is that what I have is an LC-48-8, which is the common pairing of the 48-6 obverse with the reverse of the 48-7.
Am I headed in the right direction?
Grateful for any information that will help me confirm or refute my ID!
Many thanks to all.
