Nickel Error Or PMD? - Coin Community Forum

CoinCbass Pillar of the Community United States 1217 Posts	Posted 12/03/2013 07:36 am found this. it looks like PMD. there is a ring of somehting with reeding or simlar around the coin. The wierd thing is the picture of the two blebs at the base of jeffersons bust. they appear to be copper. I am just wondering if someone smashed this with somehting with reeded edges and then dropped some molten metal on it. back of coin does not show any damage or wierdness in my opinion. any thoughts would be appreciated. While the ring around is a good indicator it may have happened at the mint, the extra nodes under his bust represent it may have been a part of a failed attempt at welding for jewelry.
