Probably a silly question... but I have a 1987-2012 25th anniversary loonie lighter in colour than regular loonie coins and non magnetic.
Was there a gold (colour) plated version of a silver loonie issued in any of the commemorative sets in 2012?

Thanks

Arthur

@Arthur:

Yes, such Loonie was included in the "2012 Canada Proof Silver Deluxe Set".

The Loonie (as rest of the coins) srtuck from .9999 Silver and also gold-plated.

Here the URL to Loonie listing (not mine), that has coin close-up:

The doble-dated, but not silver Loonie issued also in the traditional 2012 Proof Set, but the gold-plated one has "rich gold" color.

Traditional 2012 Proof set (not silver):

The gold plated silver one is heavier while the brass one is a lighter yellowier colour.

Thanks for the info.
I'm still unsure of the signifigance of its not reacting to a magnet, (or doubting my good luck of getting the a silver coin for the price of a regular bronze in a lot purchase

Again thanks for the reply.
