I have this 1886 five dollar gold coin, can someone tell me what's up with the mint mark? I know it's an S but what happen to it and is it worth more or rare thank you. It looks like a blob or it leaked on the mint mark? Not sure what it is called ty

to CCF! The mintmark looks normal to me. The smudging of the the 's' is a result of worn dies. The value here is the same as any other coin in this condition.

Nothing unusal about the mint mark, many of them can be found filled like this one.
Here's a filled S on a Double Eagle.

The "S" can begin to look like a blob if the coin has seen circulation. (yours looks like it has) It is not rare and is very normal.
