Top coin is a new arrival today

France 1853 K 10 centimes with a vertical vine leaf as opposed to the normal horizontal one

Catalogued in Le Franc 10 as 133/6 & 133/7, 1,268,672 combined mintage; both quite hard to find above washer grade, so quite pleased at a £10 BIN on ebay

I took the libverty of investigating this piece (the vertical leaf) in the French reference catalogs:

Mentioned in Le Franc VIII (2009) as F133/7 with values (in euro): Good (G10) 50, Fine (F25) 90, VF (VF45) 250, AUnc (AU58) 750. No values for higher grades.
Mentioned in Gadoury 2011 as Gad248 with values (in euro) : Good 40, Fine 80, VF 220, XF700. No values for higher grades.

The piece registered in the "collection idéale" (best piece known, see e-franc ( http://www.lefranc.net/monnaie,dix-...nue,133.html ) is AU58. Values in euro at e-franc for this piece (in euro): G10 55; F25 100; VF45 280; AU58 800.

Nice find for 10 pounds!

Still looking for the recently discovered 1855K(a)with the vertical vine leaf though (Le Franc X 133/27)

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but do you know what is the difference between 133/12 and 133/13?

133/12 is 10 centimes 1854 with mint mark BB and a small bee as a mintmaster mark
133/13 is thesame piece but with a big bee. This one is the scarcer one!
