heidi, a heads-up: the time to ask if it's real or not, is before you buy. Hope
it is.

Are you talking about two separate coins, heidi? You already have a thread for a 1906 S Peso.

You shouldn't post until you have the pictures ready.
Now you've made all these nice people wait over 10 hours

It looks counterfeit to me.

http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces4349.html states that a 1906-S with mintmark; ultra rare (counterfeits common)

I am far from an expert so I could be wrong. With coins of this magnitude, I'd only buy ones that have been certified by a third party grading service.

Though I don't know much about Pesos, the surface looks odd.

The tone being light near the date really isn't the thing that assures me that this is a fake.
The surfaces are granular and textured in the first place, which reminds me very strongly of a cast counterfeit.

To me the bubbled surfaces all over indicate to me a coin that has been through a fire. I have a problem with the mintmark though. it appears tilted and distorted.
