just found this and thought it was a dime could it have missed getting the copper plating? or is this PMD? I think I can get the gunk off the coin if it is worth it

Looks like environmental damage to me.Type missing copper in the search box upper left of page.

Salt and vinegar can do that. I have had pennies go soggy after a soak for a week in that kind of brine. I have some strange looking coins come from vehicle cup holders after sitting in whatever pop, coffee baby formula etc, glued them all together.
