Just purchased a Bolivia 1883PTS EF 20 Centavos piece. It is listed in Krause as being rare, with only 3-5 pieces known. The regular strike correctly displays the essayers initials as FE. I have checked the Heritage Auction archives and do not see where they have sold one. Can anybody tell me more about the history of this coin?
Probably because it isn't widely collected or wanted. Still I'd have it over any Morgan of similar value. Can't tell you much about history, or why it exists in such low numbers.
Thanks. I paid $250.00 for it which may be "tomorrow's price" but I doubt I would have had the chance to own it again. It was well worth that to me, even though it's above book value...
