Quote: Got my first Mercury ender the other day. It was a 1940-P. Unfortunately it was the only silver dime in the box, but it was still a nice surprise. Excellent!

well, how about that. The tiniest thing on a coin can tell volumes! Never paid attention that.

the mintmark is actually on the reverse for 1964 and prior for Washington quarters, Roosevelt dimes, and Jefferson nickels. Without the D mintmark, the Kennedy reverse silver enders can be a little tough to spot if the reverse is not super silvery. I have also seen some non-silver copper clad Kennedy reverses that you would swear are silver by the "look."

Had an ender the other day, but didn't get a picture. Telltale silver patina on a 40% JFK, the roll also had my first JFK proof! See the half dollar roll thread for pics!
Rest of the rolls were skunks. Go figure, I'm happy with the proof and the silver!

Been a couple of years since I got one of these... a 1942-P War Nickel ender!
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!
