Regrading And Conserving Coins - Coin Community Forum

I have 3 gold Liberty coins. 1 is graded from PCGS and 2 are graded from NGC. I have attached one coin graded from PCGS. My first question is, should I bother conserving a coin as seen in the picture at NGC and possibly get a higher grade? Second, the remaining 2 NGC coins are in old holders and should I conserve and regrade? Just to clarify, I purchased this coin 15 years ago. When I look at this coin, I feel that the coin isn't worthy of its grade. It has a proof like finish. I want to have this graded (conserved or not) or cross graded at NGC. Do you think this coin deserves a AU58 or is it worth to regrade (with or without conserving)? This coin could be worth more money in MS condition. I appreciate all feedback. MeadowviewCollector Pillar of the Community United States 4409 Posts	Posted 07/11/2014 5:34 pm This appears to me to be a nicer grade than what it currently is graded at. However, the photos aren't close enough to give an indication of the surfaces such as marks or slight rub on the high points. I don't know if this one is worth the cost of crossing it over to NGC or not..as it is out of my realm of knowledge. It looked like a newer slab, but after I did some research, the slab you have was released in 1999! The coin looks a bit proof like. Something doesn't look right here, IMO.
