I would pass in my opinion. The eye appeal just isn't there, and almost looks to be a copper counterfeit.

EDIT: But don't take my word for it, I'm no expert on counterfeits.

I think this one's been smoked. Look at the hairlines on the field behind the head and around the date. The color - including the locations of that color - bother me greatly. That's not a natural toning propagation.

and that's exactly why I asked....something never sat well with me on it and I'm not that familiar with the series....figured if I got it cheap enough it wouldn't be bad....but given problems....well I shall pass

I would pass. It's VF details, cleaned w/ environmental damage. It does look genuine though.

I would wait for another one to come along. I agree with the above comments that it looks genuine and doesn't have great eye appeal.
