The tentative plan is to start Season 49 on 12 January 2015, after the FUN show.

However, I still need two more volunteers before we begin!

Who we have so far:
CopperCastle
matttheriley
Moe145
nickelsearcher
perfessor
trdhrdr007
TypeCoin971793

Two more...

I am thinking of changing the tiebreaker from an extra round to a formula...

First tiebreaker - Number of Winning Rounds (Example: In this season, Amida wins, 2 to 1)
Second tiebreaker - Number of Runner-Up Rounds
Third tiebreaker - Past Championships? Other ideas?

Thoughts?

As long as we all play by the same rules I'm good with a formula. If it were up to me I'd award the gold to whichever person DIDN'T submit a coin for the season. I'd also get rid of the 3rd tiebreaker. It's more difficult to be in medal contention without a coin submission. Past championships shouldn't have any bearing on current seasons.

First: Congrats to Amida17! Excellent play!

Second: I'm with Trdhrdr, then third proposal doesn't work for me. Past championships should have no bearing on the present contest.

I do agree with winning/runner-up rounds won in that contest as a tie-breaker. Of course, the sudden-death-fight-to-the-finish is also fun!!

Well, I need something in case the people tied have the same number of rounds won and the same number of rounds where they were runner up. (Hence the question mark; I knew it was a bad idea).

I do like this idea!

It is more difficult (but not impossible) to win without submission (it has happened seven times).

Well, I have run out of tie-breaker coins. Do you remember why you asked me to not use that Vermont coin originally?

And no one wants to lose a championship over a what I had for lunch! Amiright, CK?

Okay, how about this...

Season Championship Tiebreaker Rules
If two (or more) players are tied after ten rounds, the First tiebreaker will be the number of winning rounds.

If two (or more) of the tied players have the same number of winning rounds, then then the Second tiebreaker will be the number of runner-up rounds.

If two (or more) of the tied players have the same number of winning and runner-up rounds then the Third tiebreaker will be the player who did not submit a coin for the season.

If two (or more) of the tied players have the same number of winning and runner-up rounds and they all did (or they all did not) submit a coin this season, then the Fourth tiebreaker will use the head-to-head scores for each round.

Congrats amida17! Nicely done!
I had the feeling that this season was going to be yours.

Many thanks to our selfless host, Jbuck!

Regard the tiebreaker rules, I like the first 3. I do favor giving the championship to the one who did not submit.

For the 4th proposed tiebreaker, are we talking about number of rounds won? I just have to wonder about a scenario where all the tied players did not submit and have won the same number of rounds and runner up spots. If one of the players was a runner up in at least one round that another tied player won, it is possible someone could lose a championship based on when the runner up points were earned.

If this is too much work, I'll understand. This will sound a little reminiscent of season 1, but maybe one of the tiebreakers could be the average percentage off the actual price.

I was thinking maybe having the first 3 rules and maybe this average percentage off as the 4th if it's not too much work.

Well, I ran through several scenarios.

I think your idea, although more work, rewards accuracy. I think we will go with that.

Okay, latest revision...

If two (or more) of the tied players have the same number of winning and runner-up rounds and they all did (or they all did not) submit a coin this season, then the Fourth tiebreaker will be the accuracy of guesses.
