I like the Roman coin look the Ferdinand type has.

Very coins 'thryan9'. To get one of those 15th century (or earlier) coins dated with Roman numerals is on my wish list.

Here a coin the minting of which was started in this decade and involves another Ferdinand: Blanca issued by Isabella I, Queen of Castille (1474-1504) and Ferdinand II, King of Aragon (1479-1576) - CC#1898+ The inscriptions read ".FERNANDVS.ET.X" on the obverse and "REX.ET.REG.CAST.X" on the reverse. This Ferdinad commonly known as Ferdinand II of Aragon was: Ferdinand V of Castille from 1474 on based on his marriage with Isabella Ferdinad II of Aragon from 1479 and Ferdinad III of Naples from 1504. Let me also add that he was the brother-in-law of Ferdinand I of Naples, whose coin was shown above.

1478 Double Vuurijzer Brabant - Burgundian Netherlands Maria of Burgundy 1474 Briquet Flanders - Burgundian Netherlands Charles "The Bold" This is the earliest dated coin that I have; a recent purchase from a gentleman from Belgium.

Very nice 'DKA-Numis'. Don't have any AD dated coins that old, but some 'Arabian' and 'Chinese' ones. But don't forget, it does not need a clear year for coins to be posted here.

@ 'EddieDiz', it looks like K G with both inverted. There are so many types and variants of those coins, it can be very confusing. Here one of mine which does not 100% match any one of these either: Denar (minted after 1479) from Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary (1458-1490) - cf.Huszar#720 This one has a different legend to the one shown above and there is slight disagreement about the minting period, some say 1479-1485 and others 1481-1490 - which such an extensive variety it will probably take a lot more research to get everything sorted out.

Good to see you posting here. It's a little late but as stated already, if one misses a day it is no problem to show a coin later - allows everyone to see a greater variety.

Quote: It's a little late . . . . . Help me out here, please, (to understand). Your 1479 coin some 18 minutes before my 1492 and (the site) clock doesn't get to midnight for another half an hour. What am I missing, please? I want to do the right thing.

Easy explanation:
Today is (still) the 1471-1480 decade, so any coin with a minting period starting after 1480 is late. But there is no need to worry about a coin being posted a few days later if it can 'enlighten' the followers of this thread and show something different. Just please don't post ahead (ie a coin with an earlier minting period), that can be confusing.

TC,
The thread goes backward in time, a decade per day. So if the 1470s are currently up, then the 1490s would have been two days ago - technically. Med is clearly happy to see your post, so all is good.

That's exactly right 'Bob_L'. Now the clock has ticked over and it's 1461-1470 day. Waiting with baited breath to see coins getting posted - there is nothing in the identified stash to post from for me. Hope we can move on before I have identified all coins in the unidentified stash. Where are the coins?

Don't get old, folks.
I read 'Decade' but it registered as 'Century'. (Ooops. Sorry.)
Also, (in another thread), I couldn't find my Constantine II because I was looking in the Constantine 1 list.
(Someone take me outside and shoot me.)
