Good news! I just received some dirhams and found one from AH283, which corresponds to 896/897 AD. It is from the reign of Isma'il I (of the Samanid Dynasty) and was minted in al-Shash, Uzbekistan. The attribution is Album 1443.

With this post, we can finally start moving backward again. Starting at midnight CCF time, please feel free to post your coins minted between 880 and 889 AD.

Here is my small-flan dirham of Abu Da'ud Muhammed b. Ahmad. It was minted in Eastern Khorasan, perhaps in Banjhir. Only the first two digits of the date are visible there on the edge of the obv (AH 26x), which corresponds to a Gregorian date of 873 to 883 AD).

Starting tomorrow, we can drop down to the decade of the 860s and I'm gonna need some help from the others here.

Super post Arnoldoe! Now we are on to the decade of the 850s. I have a couple more coins from the century, but will need to check later this weekend if one is from the current decade. In the meanwhile, feel free to post your 850s AD.
