Weekly bump! We are looking for coins minted in the 830s AD.

That was indeed some creative thinking for I was beginning to think that this thread ran over some stationary flypaper.

another bump... The 830s seem to have been a pretty light decade for coinage.

@chrsmat71, ok that is good to know. We need all the help we can get to get through the 9th Century!

I truly enjoy this thread because of the diversity of coins but miss seeing its results more often.
Personally, it does not make a difference to me if a coin from 830 or 840 pops up; the sequencing is of much less importance compared to appreciating the multitude of nuances of each different coin presented.
What does everyone think about expanding the range in question to two decades as opposed to just one? We could likewise always continue to encourage late comers to still post their coins although the show had already moved on down the road to the next couple of decades...

I am okay with that idea. The thread OP has been MIA for about 18 months, so I think the group consensus should apply.

@mdpmedia, yes, this thread laid dormant for about a year, but since May 2016 or so, we have moved backward through 10 or 11 decades. I have great confidence that we can continue at this pace of 2 or 3 decades per month, at least for a time.
However, I agree that at some point, going by decade may prove too difficult to move on. Would you mind a friendly amendment to your proposal? I would suggest that we continue going by decades for now, and then re-evaluate at the start of 2017. If progress continues in a linear fashion, then I would expect us to be in the 7th Century by that point and I know that I will be mostly useless for moving us through that century.
As @jbuck said, this should be a consensus. Who else would like to weigh in on changing to scores from decades?
