Does anyone recognize where and when this coin may have been issued. I'm assuming it is Asian, but I'm not even sure what is the correct orientation. Diameter 2.4 cm. Weight 7.8 g

I'm reluctant to soak this coin to get rid of the verdigris since it most likely will attack the limited detail remaining.

Perhaps, but it doesn't look like any Asian coin I've ever seen. Did you find/purchase it in Asia? Or why do you think it may have originated there.

Also, based on these pictures, it appears as though all of the marks are incuse rather than raised. Can you please confirm that is the case? If so, then I think that @scu was right in their assessment. Maybe an old British Halfpenny slick that someone has marked up?

Second photo does not look incuse to me.
I see a bull (or horse) left with head turned right, more reminiscent of Lascaux than any coin I can recall.
