Here is a 1753 Potosi eight reales cob, assayer "q" with "MR" counterstamp attributed to Mozambique in 1767, a Portuguese colony on the east coast of Africa. I think it is legit, but what do you think?

The c/s style looks like it could be ok - but there is almost no documentation on those . and no study.
We have been discussing about those resellos in my Facebook group - many came to the market lately - and I couldn't get any conclusion from all the contributors there .

Stamps like this can be real, but when the host coin itself is of low or limited value and rises astronomically because of the stamp alone - I get VERY suspicious.

There are none of the obvious signs of a modern forgery, but the stamp is really a very simple one to make.

I have no opinion but I advise great caution.
