Making New Zealand's First Ever Circulating Colored Coin

CCFPress Press Manager United States 1420 Posts	Posted 02/24/2015 10:51 am The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is releasing a legal tender colored Anzac circulating commemorative coin to honor the spirit of Anzac that was formed at Gallipoli 100 years ago. One million of the special 50-cent coins have been minted and color stamped by the Royal Canadian Mint, using a special high-speed pad printing process which generates sharper, more detailed coin imagery than traditional inkjet printing. The Anzac coin is the first circulating coin in the world to utilize the revolutionary printing technology. I actually stopped buying from NZ post some years ago when they restruck some proof coins ( in sets) to cash in on collector demand.
