I picked up this little Indian Head cent recently and wanted to see what the CCF Members thought of her in comparison to PCGS.

Thank you for your interest!

MS-64 RB, no higher due to the rim nicks on the obverse and the scratch on the reverse. I know it's a variety, but what's going on around Liberty's ear?

63 or 64. Not sure due to rim nicks. The coin also has no luster- can a 64 have such reduced luster?

I'll say 63RB, but I wouldn't be surprised with a 64

MS 64, no color designation because I believe this is an 1864 CN. It is also an Snow 5 with heavy die file marks around the ear. Nice coin.

As to beaglebailey's color comment, cupro-nickel coins are also considered RB but I've also heard some CN coins referred to as full white.

The CCF Members were a little generous on the grade (but appreciated!) of this CuNi Indian, and beaglebailey nailed the variety of Snow-5 also known as Polished Die FS-401
