I added three more photos... 1) Is very clear of double maybe triple 2) Another is a small Cud on the shield as a diagnostic. 3) More doubling for your entertainment.
Hello all again.... I am in need of assistance with my 20 Balboas silver coin. Ken Potter has written an article about the first double die 20 balboas 1971 silver coin and now do I have the second discovery coin but a 1973 proof?
Hello koinpro, thanks for your opinion and email. It looks like you and I have the only double die 20 Balboas right? I feel special LOL. As you said the Franklin mint holds a stigma, well lets hopefully break that curse.
I have a 1975 Proof,(which Ken Potter has not attributed yet, but, in the mail now) 1972 Proof, and a 1971 Bu Panama 20 Balboa's all with Double Die Obverse and Reverse...my 1978 Proof is "normal"...my hunch is, with so many of these found, there is the possibility of what's called by Dr. James Wiles, Coneca Attributor, "Series Doubling"...typical on most proof Ike dollars from 1972, 73, & 74. Stand alone DDR would require specific die markers. Obverse DDO would require specific Mint Mark Placement lines, like they do in the IKE Group.org. Just thinking out loud on this.
