If it's graded in a slab, HECK YEAH.
Is it raw or in OGP?
Is that total price including shipping?

Just the basic questions you have to ask yourself.

I look it at this way...the face value is $1.00, you subtract that from $5.50 and you get $4.50
Is $4.50 worth it to you for a 35 year old coin that they made about 4,000,000 of in Proof.

Does it fill a hole for you or is it just a quick interest?

I don't normally do SBA coins, BUT, I did pick up a 1999 Proof in OGP a few weeks ago for $7.00
It was worth it to me.

You simply have to ask is it worth it to you?

I'm not a collector of these but there is some minor Cud on the obverse which I would like.

..........at $5.50 its probably close to UNC value.

81 was a low mintage year for SBA
1981 P 3,000,000
1981 D 3,250,000
1981 S 3,492,000

Minted at San Francisco (S)

I wouldn't because pcgs lists the whole set as 6 dollars so go to your local coin shop and get the best one he had and pay six . You could even tell him 5 and he'll probably do it. Then you will have the whole set . Who knows I'd he has a bunch you might pick our a type 2 he missed but seriously $6 for the whole set is better deal

I won a complete 1981 proof set for $7.50. I personally wouldn't go above $2.50 for it.

1981 type II is a whole different ballgame.

The coin shops in my neighborhood are selling the proof sets for 5 to 6 dollars. I would just buy a proof set and break it up, then you get the rest of the coins for free. For the P and D SBAs you can normally by an 81 mint set cheaper.

That is a fair price, if I needed the coin for a set.

At the price I would not worry if I could save
a dollar or two.
