Pretty sure I ran into my first counterfeit coin today, a guy was trying to sell a 1883 s Trade dollar. It looked great but I researched it and found out they only made proofs in that year, and they were minted in Philadelphia. I let the seller know, I've bought a bunch of coins of him before, he's a good guy and I don't think he knew it was counterfeit.

If it was an 1883 S Trade dollar there's no "pretty sure" to it, it is absolutely a fake.
