I found my first 19th century doubled die the other day. It's a 1857 Flying Eagle cent.

I am pretty sure this is the FS-101 (or Snow - 4) due to the spread, the missing wingtip, and the proximity of the last A in America and the tail feathers.

Further, I ruled out S-3 because it was missing the thin doubling in the gap of the right leg of the "N" in UNITED. My example exhibits that doubling and S-4 (or FS-101) does as well.

Are there any EF experts out there that can confirm this attribution?

What do you mean you found it. Do you mean you got it in a roll because that would be awesome!

I picked it from an ebay auction. I would have been really excited to find it in a roll!

Hmm I think the DDO will be the next varieties I start to chase. Cool coin!
