Date was altered from a 1944-D. The space betweed the 9 and 1 is too wide. Look at my 1914-D in comparison.

The color around the D mint mark doesn't look right either. Any explanation for that?

The picture is way to small to comment on the MM ,,but I doubt it has been tampered with IE added ,, since these type of counterfeits are made by shaving the date from a 44 to a 14.

I noticed that, too. I cant tell if it's corrosion or some type of residue from a cleaning paste.
