If it's a silver proof, it's worth £25.00 and if it's a Piedfort it would be worth £115.0 The normal, brass coins are worth £5.00 in UNC - i.e. $10 so lucky you if it is silver! It is definitely a silver proof and comes in a blue "ring box" type case and has a clear plastic capsule which appears to have been opened at one point although the coin looks untouched. I have always loved the pound coin since I got my first one in an unc collection I bought at either Harrods or Tower of London. Can't remember since it was 23 years ago. Do they still have the collection contest where you stick the coins to the envelope to send in and hopefully win a proof silver pound. I still have mine with the coins that haven't fallen out and gotten lost. Report this Post to the Staff
