It's interesting that the obverse portrait seems realistic and the reverse seems quite fanciful with the face on the sun. Nice coin. Doesn't look like it got handled much. jgenn Pillar of the Community United States 1156 Posts	Posted 07/03/2016 9:22 pm Prior to Nicaraguan independence in 1838 it was a province in the Federal Republic of Central America, along with Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Los Altos (which would become the Mexican State of Chiapas). You will recognize the obverse design of the first 8 reales issued by the Federal Republic of Central America. Report this Post to the Staff
