Wanted to get your thoughts on this coin. The dealer I bought this off of was going to send this off for grading and thought that it was a good candidate. Personally I'm probably going to keep it raw but wanted CCF's thoughts.

The coin is actually very dark in hand, I lightened up the pictures a bit to allow easier grading.

EF-40 details, looks like some environmental damage.

Nice coin, lousy patina, that detracts from eye appeal.
Patination, after all, is a form of light corrosion, usually forming a protective layer and enhancing the appearance.
From an eye appeal standpoint, the patination has not helped in this case.
A professional may be able to help this coin to improve eye appeal, but it would then carry a 'details: cleaned' comment.

Acetone perhaps...to get the greenish residue off...possibly pvc damage.

Details are quite strong and easily XF - perhaps better. This coin needs help though and I'd start with soaking it overnight in acetone to see what happens.

I think you should try to get some sharper photos. I wanna say lots of things, here, but pics can lie. It looks from here like you would get a "details" grade, anyways. Very high grade, though, but why bother if it comes back "corrosion?"
