Looks to be a Hardtimes token from back when Jackson was President from what Ive researched so far...

I think if he saw his portraits on the $20.00 bill he would go crazy......LOL

Does this token currently hold any historical value?

It holds a lot of historical Value.

as to monetary value, it has less of that. They are common enough so I have seen them (I do not collect them nor look for them) and yours has had, a full life. It is worth keeping and enjoying. A very neat thing to find.

@happygilmore, not my area of expertise, but this appears to be a HT 70 Hard Times Token, circa 1833. From Rulau,

Recent research has shown that this tioken is probably the first cent-sized political type token which achieved wide circulation, and open the door for a flood of similar items.

So, yes your token has loads of historical value. Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks alot for the information...I really appreciate the help...When I first saw it back in 83 I thought it was a super old Monopoly game type gamepiece....LOL

When I was a kid there was this house called the Hawkins house..It had some historical significance to the time whos owner was a direct relative of Jonas Hawkins who died in 1817..

The Hawkins house was moved in pieces in the early 1980's from Hawkins Blvd to a lot on Bergen Ave and the house sat vacant on pilings for over 6 months cut in half..We used to venture in the two halves of the house before it got moved to its new resting spot and thats where I found the token literally sandwiched in between floor boards.
