Hey all, I just picked up this 1863 Indian Head cent today. The reverse is showing what seems to be a large Cud but the thing that stands out to me is that the design of the rim is on top of the area in question. This makes me think that this could have been a bad planchet, because I would think the design would be missing if this was a Cud. Please let me know what you all think. At this moment I am at a lose. Thanks for the help :)
I would email BJ Neff. http://cuds-on-coins.com/contact-2/ He is the curator of that site......may want to list yours.......lookse at least like a die state he does not have......
