cptbilly Pillar of the Community United States 1981 Posts	Posted 08/05/2024 4:27 pm Society of Medalists Issue #92 [ October 1975 ] entitled "Young Love - Mother Love" was sculpted and designed by Bruno Lucchesi. 73mm. According to medallicartcollector.com: Quote: Bruno Lucchessi attempted to make "a positive statement about Life - and the love of life." He showed two stages of love: the young, impetuous youths in passionate embrace, and the serene mother, loving her baby tenderly. In accordance with Lucchesi, the reverse can be seen as the fulfillment of the obverse. It could of course also be interpreted as a tale about the consequences of impetuous, youthful love. The brochure offers details on the sculptor and design elements: This example is # 0037 / 2500; 2.5 inches. 10.8 oz. As the edge photo above demonstrates, the fit and finish are superb. cptbilly Pillar of the Community United States 1981 Posts	Posted 08/29/2024 8:52 pm The predecessor to "The Four Freedoms Medal" shown above was produced and issued in 1974. "Inspiration" [MACO # 1974-123 -L / R ] was designed by sculptor Frank Eliscu, who designed and created the Heisman Memorial Football Trophy in 1935 when he was only 23 years old. It was the first multi-part medal made in the United States. This example is # 315 / 2500. The assembled medal weighs 7.5 oz and is 2.25". Unfortunately the flyer insert is in pretty bad shape. . .so it goes. The flyer's purple prose was authored by D. Wayne Johnson. Thanks for looking.
