Here's a MACO medal struck in 1971 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the first commercial sale of Springfield, Massachusetts' Duryea Motor Wagon Company "Motorcycles" (renamed "Automobile" in 1899 by the New York Times.) - 13 were sold. They represented the first commercially-produced American automobiles to be sold! (Unfortunately, the Duryea Motor Wagon Company went bankrupt just a few years later - in 1898.) @cptbilly: Thanks!
MACO medals have commemorated a significant amount of US history. Some well-known, some lesser-known. I enjoy collecting them!

MACO's 1984 bronze Calendar Medal [MACO # 1983 - 131] adapted Don Everhart II's 1982 design for the Society of Medalists' Issue Number 106 [MACO # 1930-001-106] known as "The Dance of the Dolphins." 3" OD. 7.15 oz / 203g. Everhart's work has appeared on Statehood Quarters, Presidential dollars, Presidential Inaugural medals, and Congressional Medals. His wiki entry offers a fine overview of this prolific artist: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Everhart MACO was in Danbury, CT, at the time.
