Seated Half Dollar With Bridged Letters On REV

fisher904 New Member United States 25 Posts	Posted 12/12/2016 10:19 pm I just noticed I have this 1843 Half Dollar and noticed that some of the letters on the rev are connected. Not sure if this is something common or if it's a know varity any help is much appreciated Report this Post to the Staff

Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 12/16/2016 11:28 am It has a die crack that begins at the rim above M goes from the rim to the Mat the top of the left upright and then continues through the tops of the letters MERIC. The edges of the crack have chipped away between ER creating that "lump" on the crack. There may be a very fine crack from the point of that lump up to the rim, and it looks like the crack might just extend very finely through the A to the rim at the third dentical to the right of the A.
